Lenovo Z2 Plus gets a price-cut by Rs 3,000 ahead of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 India launch

Lenovo Z2 Plus 32GB variant gets Rs 3,000 price cut, while 64GB variant gets Rs 2,500 price cut.
Lenovo Z2 Plus was easily one of the best smartphones of 2016, and one that you couldn’t miss out on in the mid-range segment. Now the smartphone has received a price cut, which makes it an even better value-for-money proposition. You can’t help but marvel at the timing of this price tag, with Xiaomi set to soon launch the Redmi Note 4 in India.
The Lenovo Z2 Plus was launched in India back in September in two variants — 32GB storage variant priced at Rs 17,999, and a 64GB variant priced at Rs 19,999. The 32GB variant has now received a Rs 3,000 cut, bringing the price tag down to Rs 14,999. The 64GB variant, on the other hand, has received a Rs 2,500 cut, bringing the price tag down to Rs 17,499. If that wasn’t tempting enough, Amazon India is also offering exchange bonus and easy EMI options for buyers. The smartphone will also be available at cut price on Flipkart.
At its existing pricing, the Lenovo Z2 Plus was really a dream come true — a power packed smartphone with flagship specs available for loose change. Needless to say, it was already one of the most affordable smartphones in India, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor. With a price cut, it has become all the more difficult to skip the Z2 Plus, if you are in the market for a sub-Rs 20,000 smartphone.
The timing of the price cut is quite interesting when you consider that Xiaomi is widely believed to be launching the much-awaited Redmi Note 4 in India on January 19. The upcoming Xiaomi smartphone is expected to be exclusively available via Flipkart. A successor to the popular Redmi Note 3, the upcoming smartphone is expected to be priced aggressively as well. In China, the 16GB Redmi Note 4 variant with 2GB RAM is priced at RMB 899 (approximately Rs 9,000). The 64GB variant with 3GB RAM, on the other hand, is priced RMB 1,199 (Rs 12,000 approximately). The competition between the two smartphones will be something to look forward to.
